The Old Way
After spending most of a day freezing green beans, I found both girls in the midst of a toy tornado. See the canvas tote on the bed? We had nine of them on a set of shelves in their room. All nine had toys or games in them and had nice labels on the front. Notice I am speaking in the past tense? After nearly crying, I calmly cleaned it all up, putting a LOT of it straight into the van for a trip to Goodwill. Then I went to the store and bought clear plastic totes that stack together, put the remaining toys in them, and put them on the top shelf of their closet where they cannot reach them. Now they have to ask me to get their toys down and if I notice they are not playing with some then I have no problem giving some needy child a new toy.
