1. Every evening and every Saturday all summer has been devoted to cabinet making. We are doing it ourselves for three reasons. a) we will be saving money. b) it is completely custom and fits exactly in our space. c) my husband is an engineer and this is the way he operates. If you want something done right, you gotta do it yourself.
2. Daniel celebrated his eighth birthday on August 3rd and got baptized the next day. In our family we do not buy our children birthday presents. Instead you get a date with just mom and dad. The other kids get dropped at grandma's house and you get a few hours of a fun activity and usually a meal as an only child. We took Daniel to the Hardin County Rodeo and out for ice cream. He had a great time!
3. On Sunday, August 4th Daniel was baptized and confirmed a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
4. School started on the 7th.
5. Early morning seminary (Curtis is the teacher) started on the 8th.
6. All of this means that we had a August 2nd, 7:00 pm deadline for finishing most of the pantry instalation (the biggest and best part of this whole thing).
7. It happened. It does not have all of its doors and still needs drawers but it is functional and beautiful and I love it!
