6.27.17

Jonathan has discovered peeing outside and he really likes it. Last week he woke up just as I was going out to open the chickens and move Ramy so he wanted to come with me. The slightly cool air meant he needed to go NOW so he got used to having his morning pee outside. Yesterday, Sunday, he was playing outside when he needed to go. He was still in his church pants and he can't do the button yet so he came inside to have me undo the button so he could go back outside to pee! The only problem I have with this whole thing is half the time he gets pee on his underwear. He ran out of clean underwear Sunday afternoon and went without under his pjs, which he also liked a lot.

Back to School

The summer flew by fast! ALL the Nalls went to our favorite place, Fort Walton Beach, Florida. The kids had a great time in the two pools and out on the beach. Jonathan fell asleep in my arms while I was holding him out in the gentle waves. One night Elizabeth and I watched fireworks as they were shot off the fishing pier and the whole family saw some from our room the next night. Arthur, Melanie, Jason, Rebecca, and Terri and Phillip were there as well. Rachel asks everyday when we can go back to the white sand beach.

Daniel is in fifth grade this year! Last year of elementary school. His teachers are Ms. Catron and Ms. Mills. He likes everything so far, but what he is super excited about is the fact that there is a no written homework policy at Lakewood this year. No homework! To be fair, the policy is no written homework, so he still has to read every night (not a problem) and there are still spelling tests and other stuff to study. I have to say that I am not disappointed. He has time to practice piano and play outside after school now, he could not do that last year.

My Rosebud is in first grade! Her teacher is Ms. Brown and Elizabeth loves her. Her best friend from church, Hailey, is in her class and she is excited to play with her at recess everyday. Liz is reading better and better all the time. Her current favorite book is "Chicka Chicka Boom Boom". She tells me how to read it, "really loud here mom", "softer mom". She got 100% on her first spelling test!

Rachel and Jonathan are also back into the swing of things with Music Makers. Our August theme is the beach and ocean so Rachel feels like an expert.

So far a good start to a new year.
