Camping

The familly at Cumberland Gap National Historic Park
Yes, we ventured into the primitive wild with a five year old, and two year old, and me 27 weeks pregnant! I just have to say that my husband is an awesome man who made sure his wife was very comfortable.
The park rangers, and just about every sign in the park, make sure you know that bears do live in the park and they will eat your food if you leave it out. Daniel was all for seeing a bear up close and personal, but was satisfied with the deer and small woodland creatures we did see.
We bought a book a while ago about each of the national parks and we have since made it our goal to visit as many as we can with the kids. Here is our review of Cumberland Gap NHP:
very beautiful
nice visitors center, two different short films, helpful staff
Jr. Ranger Program participants
lots of trails to walk or hike, maps could have been better though
lots of flush toilets (I think I might have used them all)
hot showers
nice camp grounds, some primitive, some RV, very clean and well maintained, no roudy crowds
All in all we had a great time. The kids loved sleeping in a tent and playing with all the rocks and sticks they could want. The glow sticks were just the cherry on top for them!

That looks super fun! Our family would also like to visit as many National and State Parks as possible. On a side note, congrats that you're expecting!
