The Things Kids Say

I had to share some funny things that Daniel said yesterday. To set up the situation: we have a pet turtle named Rerun that lives in a forty gallon tank in the kitchen. Daniel came downstairs, announced he was hungry, then gave his usual, "Good Morning, Rerun", to the turtle. The rest of the conversation went like this:
"Rerun's hungry."
"I'll feed you first, do you want Cheerios or oatmeal?"
"Mommy, you need to say sorry to Rerun for not feeding her."
Speechless and with a shocked look on my face I fed the turtle and then Daniel.
That was breakfast. At lunch the following conversation took place:
"You need to finish your oranges before you can play."
"I can't. My fork is asleep."
I gently shake the fork and say, "Wake up fork."
I get reprimanded with a "shh".
On the bright side, my son is learning the principles of putting others before himself and being quiet when others are napping.
